Explore the flavours and techniques of New Nordic cuisine in this engaging hands-on class. Prepare seasonal dishes inspired by Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian traditions, all with a modern twist.
During this 3.5-4-hour session, you'll dive into Nordic culinary history while learning preservation techniques like pickling, fermenting, curing, and smoking. Guided by expert chefs, you'll create a seasonal three-course meal, including an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed and shown to your cooking station, where the experience begins. Your chef will introduce themselves and share the timeline for the experience.
It's time to get cooking! With your chef's guidance, you'll learn the art of modern Nordic cooking, including how to preserve fish, meat, and vegetables. Some preserved ingredients will be prepared in advance to save time, but we will thoroughly go over them with demonstrations and recipes so that you can easily recreate them at home. Preservation is easy, but it takes time.
Once you've finished, you'll enjoy your creations in a relaxed, standing-meal format, appreciating the mix of flavours and textures. At the end of the class, you'll receive a recipe booklet to make these tasty dishes again at home.
